Privacy policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what we do not do with it.

What is stored in your browser

Your basket, wishlist, saved profile details and order history are held in this browser's local storage on your own device. They are not sent to us and we cannot read them.

Clearing your browser data removes them. Using a different device or browser will show an empty basket and no order history.

What we collect when you order

To deliver an order we need your name, phone number, town and delivery address. If you give an email address we use it for order updates only.

We keep order records for accounting and to answer questions about past orders. We do not sell, rent or share customer lists.

Name — to address the delivery
Phone — so the rider or courier can call ahead
Address and town — to deliver
Email (optional) — order updates and, only if you asked, the newsletter

Payments

We do not collect or store card numbers on this site. M-Pesa payments are made through Safaricom's own systems using your order reference as the account number.

If you subscribe we store your email address to send harvest news and recipes, roughly once a month. Every email carries an unsubscribe link and we act on it immediately.

Third parties

Delivery partners receive only the details needed to complete your delivery. Photographs on this site are licensed from Unsplash and Wikimedia Commons contributors and are credited on our image credits page.

If you contact us through WhatsApp, that conversation is subject to WhatsApp's own privacy terms.

Your rights and contact

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@asalitamu.co.ke and we will respond within thirty days.
